This is fantastic news. The used market should be affordable and plentiful in a few years. Maybe my dream of buying a C7 for my 30th birthday isn't so unreasonable...

That is a lot of used C7s for the future. Scuse me jayhawk, I may have to clone your dream for my own nefarious purposes

Holy hell that's a lot.

Like, 2x as many in MY1 as opposed to the C6. Or pretty close, I think 05 production is around 20k, still fewer than 25k. (I know this because I think about 10% of cars were my color, and there were 2000ish)

o.o maybe they should lower the price now. like for brand new ones.

Dayum. I might have to reevaluate my plans.

Btw, looking at some projected residuals, C7s are expected to drop to anywhere from $30-$40k (going up from base 1LT to 3LT Z51) in 3 years and $20-$30k in 5 for 2014 models. I can get behind that.

And I shall make a clone of the clone. Except for my 40th as my 30th is in October.

Yea I read that, that headline is misleading like a mofo.

This year they made more C7s than the last 3 years of the C6. Which duh. The C6 actually sold more in its first year.

"In this millennium it's only beat by the first year of C6 production in 2005 at 37,372 units"

According to the article they actually sold more C6s … very misleading title.

Ahhh, very well then.

OK, so my numbers were off. 8.9% of coupes were my color. And there were 26k coupes. I was close!

This makes me happy.

That would be fantastic. If the C7 drops to ~$35k-$40k I might be able to afford one if I trade my current car in. Forget saving up to buy a C5 like I was planning on doing, might as well save just a little bit longer and get a C7.

Yeah, I noticed that after I posted it.

40th? Why not 35th?

I just turned 25. I'm hopeful values get down to the $30k-$40k range in the next 5 years. As soon as they do I'll probably get one.

Econ 101 says they should raise the price if they are building them this quickly to meet demand.

is that micro or macro? cause I only took macro. Also where is the demand? I rarely see a C7 anywhere.

It's more micro, but it's a basic principle of macro.

There's clearly a demand otherwise they wouldn't be building so many of them. I see C7's all the time, but what one person sees does not stand for the entire global production.

True but I live in a large city well two if you could Springfield and STL MO. and maybe on average only 1-3 C7 roll through.

I would need to be sub 30k. I was planning on a C6 Z06 before then but maybe one of these instead.

I live in Wichita, KS and I probably see 2 of them a week at least. They are selling like hotcakes
